Give $20 or $10 for Sherry to win! You can support the campaign from all over the country!
Dear Friends,
The Clerk of the Superior Court’s office has been out of the hands of the Democratic Party far too long! For the past 13 years, the current Clerk has run unopposed. As I travel around Maricopa County, it is unfortunate that most people do not realize this is an elected office.
As a State Committee Person and 2nd Vice Chair of Legislative District 15, I need your support in my campaign for Clerk of the Court. Review my bio by clicking on the button “about” above and you will see that I have spent my life connecting people to their resources. In this office, I will connect people to their important documents and make sure they know how to use this office before they need to use it.
Maricopa County is the 4th largest county in the nation. With 2 million registered voters, it encompasses six Congressional districts in Arizona (3,4,5,6, parts of 2 and 7). The land mass is about 9,203 square miles. That makes Maricopa County about the size of the state of New Jersey. And, with your support, we can WIN and turn it blue in 2010. You can:
- Help with the signatures needed to get on the ballot. Drop by the party office at 2914 N. Central Ave. for petitions and return by 5/11/10.
- Complete the online volunteer form (click on “get involved”).
- Make an online contribution. Since this office does not qualify for Clean Elections Funding, a contribution of $10 to $410/person (or $820/couple) would help fund a competitive campaign.
- Help elect the 3rd woman Clerk of the Court in Maricopa County since 1912!
- Help elect the 1st Democrat since 1962!
The Clerk’s office is responsible for very important documents, here is an overview:
- It records, processes and stores marriage licenses, divorce filings, passports, adoption records, etc.
- It handles criminal, civil, family, juvenile and probate court proceedings.
- It handles child support enforcement and other fees owed to the court.
Thanks in advance for your support. Whether you do a little or a lot, it will make a BIG difference in being able to WIN the Clerk of the Court Office in 2010!
Believing you will make a difference,
Sherry B. Williams
